Black leadership void

According to the interviews I have seen on television, Ferguson is 70 percent black and has no black elected officials. There are only three black officers in the 60-member police force.

Why has this community allowed this to happen? Perhaps this is the final extension of voter apathy. Ferguson must have potential black leaders step forward to help solve the immediate as well as long-term problems.

The ballot box, not rioting in the streets, is the answer.
