Right ruling on flawed districts

Kudos to Leon County Circuit Judge Terry Lewis for ordering the state Legislature to redraw the boundaries of two congressional districts by Aug. 15. This is a victory for Florida voters and a slap in the face to the Republican Legislature and governor — both have tried every trick to suppress and/or make voting more difficult in the State of Florida.
Even though U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder has monitored other states such as Wisconsin and Ohio for trying similar stunts against their residents, Gov. Rick Scott was the only to be sent a strongly worded letter about “repeated attempts to add barriers to voting and restrict access to the polls.”
Any fair-minded individual, whether Republican or Democrat, ought to be disgusted at the continuing attempts by the Republican Party to win elections not by working for Floridians to receive a majority of votes, but through political machinations to keep Floridians from voting.
