The Miami Herald’s July 1 editorial, A big step back on July 1, vilifies the recent Hobby Lobby decision by the Supreme Court, saying that it denies women access to birth control. It decries this decision as “harming women.” Such frivolous rhetoric has been adopted by most liberals as a rallying point, but it is grossly misleading.
If the Herald gave an honest appraisal, it would conclude that the decision decides that the federal government has limited standing in directing how people and companies conduct their lives.
