First, people are coming to Florida faster than mosquitoes hatching on a rainy day. Second, FPL is a company with shareholders. As long as people are paying for electricity, FPL and shareholders make money.

Times are changing, and the choice is to live for yesterday or move forward with technology. Uncle Sam says move forward and provides tax breaks for renewable energy.

Sen. Marco Rubio says climate change isn’t real while Miami Beach is preparing for it. South Miami Mayor Philip Stoddard has gone solar.

Forget about a wake-up call to FPL — it might never be answered. Listen to your own wake-up call. Renewable energy helps everyone.
