Respect officers’ rights

It was reported in the July 15 article, Two police officers tied to KKK in Florida, that police officer, George Hunnewell, in Fruitland Park was fried for his link to the Ku Klux Klan.

Had this officer been black and linked to Louis Farrakhan's Nation of Islam would he have been terminated?

I believe his right to freedom of association would have rightly been respected.

As long as a law enforcement officer is doing his of her duty in a professional manner and not engaged in illegal activity, the First Amendment should prevail.
