Climate change reality

I recently read that the Miami-Dade Climate Change Task Force is urging officials to speed up climate change adaptation planning because “the sea level rise is a measurable, tractable and relentless reality.” Evidently, parts of Miami-Dade County are already experiencing flooding, which places the local water supply and the region’s agricultural and natural resources at risk.
Yet, the local golden boy, Republican Sen. Marco Rubio, denies the reality of climate change. What are we to do with our Florida senator, who is so focused on his own political ambitions that he ignores the safety of his constituents? He doesn’t seem amenable to changing his mind, so I suspect that our only choice is to save ourselves and throw him out.
