Perilous police lights

The new low silhouette light bars on local and state police vehicles are being used in a dangerous manner. The lights are too bright and are likely causing accidents at night. They are blinding in a similar manner to driving into the high beam headlights of an oncoming car. Recently, at an intersection with broken traffic lights, officers directing traffic from the middle of the intersection were totally obliterated by the lights from their cruisers parked nearby. There ought to be a less-blinding setting for these lights in such circumstances.
