In considering construction of the 1,000-foot SkyRise tower at Bayside, Miamians need to examine recent history. Remember the short-lived Skylift at Claude & Mildred Pepper Bayfront Park in 2010? That balloon rose up a mere 100-feet to give stunning views of Miami, but at that altitude the howling bay winds caused the balloon to jump and buck violently. I almost kissed the ground when it landed!
