Keep national park open

Once again the National Park Service is trying to exclude the public from Biscayne National Park. Does anyone remember why national parks were created in the first place? For the use and enjoyment of all people. The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission should be responsible for the management of the fish and wildlife in the park, not the park staff.

The reason given in the Miami Herald for putting a stop to the two-day mini lobster season is that it’s a free-for-all and a drain on the park’s resources. But it’s the FWCC’s job to manage that.

Remember, taxpayers’ dollars paid for the park, and they deserve to be able to use it.
