I take umbrage at Fred Grimm’s Dec. 2 column, Congress sticks up for exotic snakes, and the denigration of the Everglades reptile populace in our communities.
Speaking in Revolutionary terms, the snake was a symbol of the war for independence.
It has substituted as a balm in the form of snake oil where frankincense and myrrh were unattainable, biblically it is rumored the boys who manned the beaches wore sandals but those in the boat on the Sea of Galilee eschewed such in favor of water moccasins. A wily ancestor opened the gate at Eden and led us onto our destiny.
Can you decry the positive aspects of the contribution?
