PolitiFact, in the Dec. 9 article, The biggest lie, claims that the 2012 lie of the year was the Mitt Romney Jeep claim that President Obama sold Chrysler to the Italians who are going to build Jeeps in China at the cost of American jobs. I thought the biggest lie of the year was when steel worker Joe Soptic claimed that Romney and Bain Capital were responsible for his wife’s death because he had lost his health insurance. Remember the brutal campaign ad? It came out that Joe lied. Joe never mentioned that his wife had her own separate health insurance and that she died five years after Joe was laid off.
I think Romney was taken out of context when he mentioned Jeep, he really meant General Motors who is building plants like crazy in China. PolitiFact’s pick was no surprise.
