The Mall of America was built in Bloomington, Minnesota, while I was growing up there.
It has brought many benefits to the city and is still thriving, while many indoor malls are in decline. But I laughed out loud when I read Triple 5 owner Eskander Ghermezian’s comment, “Not one day have I had a traffic jam at the Mall of America.”
It makes me believe he has never actually visited the mall as the stretch of freeway within miles of the mall has some of the worst traffic in the state, and it’s not confined to rush hour.
If the American Dream Mall is built here, expect a perpetual traffic jam.
Never miss a local story.
