Fleeing the corrupt, morally bankrupt regime of Nicolae Ceasescu of Romania, my husband and I came to this country more than 30 years ago. With gratitude and pride, we swore allegiance to the flag of the United States of America in the late 1980s.
We have a hard time recognizing our adopted country now. The House of Representatives voted to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act.
Who are these people who needed a “score” on the backs of the majority of their constituents, the working people, women, and children, and those afflicted with debilitating and chronic diseases and conditions?
Who are these people who are willing to sacrifice substance for spectacle? Who are these people for whom “working hard” means twisting arms asking for a vote to remove essential benefits from the bill?
Who are these people who are hoping that the “adults” in the Senate, will at least improve the unpopular provisions they have just voted for?
How low can they sink in cynicism and hypocrisy? Very. Do they have any notion of ethics or morality? No.
