“It’s unacceptable in our league. It doesn’t matter if you’re white, black, Hispanic, whatever, all across the races.

“There is no room for Donald Sterling in our league.”

LeBron James, speaking Saturday

It’s always been obvious the Heat star player is a leader on the basketball court. Now it’s clear that he’s a leader off the court, too.

And his teammates followed James’ lead Monday night by making their own statement against Sterling.

Before Game 4 in the playoff series against the Charlotte Bobcats – as a show of support for the Los Angeles Clippers players and as a protest against their controversial NBA owner – the Heat players threw down their practice T-shirts on center court and wore their practice jerseys inside out, just like the Clippers did at their Sunday game.

A good, symbolic show of solidarity.

And better yet, NBA Commissioner Adam Silver agreed.
