I was born in Washington D.C. and grew up outside of Boston. I started drawing cartoons when I was 7 and later, during my studies at Syracuse University, merged my interest in politics with my cartooning. I started working for SU's student newspaper, the Daily Orange and I was hooked. I came to the Herald in 1978.

While many of my colleagues fret about "finding ideas,'' I'm overloaded with them thanks to living in Miami-Dade County and the state of Florida, both a satirist's paradise. These are editorial cartoons. The most important requirement is that the drawing take a point of view, humorous or not. Over the years, I've drawn scathing cartoons of both Democrats and Republicans. All are -- and should be -- considered fair game."
