Obama vs McCain on Latin America
Latin America has barely been discussed by the U.S. presidential candidates, Democrat Barack Obama and Republican John McCain. Yet a set of ongoing issues and emerging trends will have to be addressed whoever wins the White House in November. Latin America has been low on the US foreign-policy agenda since the terrorist attacks of September 11th 2001 and is watching closely how an Obama or McCain administration would approach the key issues of trade, immigration, security and democracy.
