City of Miami and Miami Dade cut from unions in proposed budgets
Both the City of Miami and Miami-Dade County officials plan on lowering taxes this year. They say they wont be making big cuts to personnel or services, either. WLRNs Ashley Lopez reports that in this round of budget negotiations, unions will be among those likely to get shortchanged.

Reading camp for English language learners
Kids learning English in Ft. Lauderdale are getting free help with reading this summer. A six-week camp has been growing steadily since it was founded four years ago. And now, because of changes in Florida testing requirements, these kids are being challenged to learn reading and writing faster.
