The American Red Cross of Greater Miami and the Keys and Miami-Dade County will host a Storm Prep Expo: Get Ready for Hurricane Season from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the Miami Beach Convention Center, 1901 Convention Center Dr.

The expo will provide a chance for residents to browse through products and services offered by local companies, plus watch safety presentations by police and fire-rescue departments.

Special guests such as Miami Heat star Alonzo Mourning, former National Hurricane Center Director Max Mayfield and chief meteorologists from South Florida English and Spanish TV stations will be on hand to answer questions.

In Broward, a Hurricane Preparedness Expo and Open House will be held from 10 a.m to 2 p.m. Friday at Broward County's Emergency Operations Center at 201 NW 84th Ave., Plantation. There will be exhibits, emergency vehicles and a mock activation. Find out how prepared you are for the next emergency.
