Although Friday should be on the dry side, we might actually see some rain over the weekend, thanks to a low-pressure system moving toward South Florida.
The same system already has produced stormy weather across the Central U.S., said meteorologist Dave Ross of the National Weather Service in Miami.
The weather service puts the chance of showers and thunderstorms at 10 percent on Friday, 40 percent on Saturday and a 50 percent chance on Sunday.
Friday's forecast also calls for sunny skies with highs in the upper 80s and lows in the low 70s.
Considering we're still under extreme drought conditions and breathing smoke from distant wildfires, some rain would be nice.
