Flagler County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a disturbance at Indian Trails Middle School’s sports complex in Palm Coast, where two teens were engaged in a fight. Deputies discovered that not only had the boys been fighting but the father of one of the boys, had instigated the argument, and then jumped in.
A man suspected of stealing a vehicle that was left running with a sleeping baby inside made a quick stop at a nearby gas station, where he left the infant in its car seat with a clerk, saying “Take the baby! Take the baby!” The man fled from the gas station after leaving the child. Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office officials say they’re still searching for the man but the infant is safe. On December 7th & 8th 2017, the MCM Florida International University Team attended the National Accelerated Bridge Construction (ABC) Conference at the Hyatt Residence in Miami. The FIU project was presented during the conference explaining how the ABC techniques will be used to erect the main span over SW 8th Street.
A newly-built pedestrian bridge near Florida International University collapsed, falling on top of an unknown number of people and cars. Emergency responders at the scene said there were "multiple people injured" but have not confirmed how many.
An accident Thursday, March 15, 2018, caused a camper towed by a vehicle to dangle off the edge of an Interstate 275 overpass in downtown St. Petersburg. St. Petersburg Fire Rescue said the camper had been secured shortly before noon, and authorities were waiting for a recovery service to retrieve the camper.
