The Leon County Sheriff's Office posted video on Thursday, Oct. 12, 2017 of Detective Emily Shaw responding to a call about a snake found on the east side of the county. Shaw, who has experience handling exotic snakes. was able to bag the 9-foot long Yellow Anaconda. They think the snake was someone's pet that either escaped or was released. "If you own an exotic pet- please be responsible. Make sure their cages are completely secure and if you decide you no longer want it, DO NOT release it into the wild. Instead, contact Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission," urged the sheriff's office.
A University of Central Florida police officer failed to keep his cool while trying to drive away an invading snake. In the video posted on Facebook, the officer is seen wielding a trash can and attempting to remove a small snake from a university building. After a few panicked attempts, he manages to open the door and celebrates as the snake slithers away.
The Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office shared footage of the rescue of a deer that had become trapped in a pond at a local country club on Sunday, August 27.The Wildlife Inc Education and Rehabilitation Center were called by Sarasota County deputies to help out after two deer were reported stranded in a pond at Laurel Oak Country Club. “Unfortunately, one didn’t survive but the other was trying his hardest to stay afloat,” the sheriff’s office noted in text accompanying the video.

The Fort Pierce Police Department released bodycam video taken after a car, loaded with propane tanks, intentionally crashed into an apartment building on July 4, 2017. The driver, who died, had a fight prior to the crash with his ex-girlfriend who lived in the building. The ex-girlfriend and her family escaped through the back door.
Police officers in Boynton Beach, Florida were forced to smash a car window to rescue a dog that was left inside a hot vehicle. Police said the temperature inside the car had reached 110 degrees. The dog's owner eventually returned to her car and was issued a citation.
