Experts question whether causeway attacker was on synthetic drugs

Even though the body of Rudy Eugene, who chewed off the face of a homeless man in May, showed signs only of marijuana, experts say it’s nevertheless likely he was under the influence of a synthetic drug.

Rudy Eugene was not on “bath salts” or synthetic marijuana in May when he chewed the face off a homeless man in Miami — if you believe the toxicology reports. Scientists and skeptical observers don’t.

Dr. Barry Logan, one of the nation’s leading toxicologists, is one of the doubters who think Eugene, who was shot dead by police, was on something not detected by either of the two laboratories that conducted the toxicology tests.
