More than 130 people were arrested after officers from a team of law enforcement agencies swept across Broward County for two straight nights, ending early Saturday.

The majority of the 132 arrests involved illegal drugs or prostitution, said Dani Moschella, a spokeswoman for the Broward Sheriff's Office. Also among the arrests were two men accused of having child pornography.

About eight of the crackdowns involved executing search warrants for homes, Moschella said. The rest were connected to activities observed during those nights, Moschella said, including the solicitation of prostitutes or the purchase of illegal drugs.

One group of arrests, associated with a pain clinic, netted more than 1,800 prescription pills, including oxycodone and hydrocodone, she said.

Along with the pills, evidence collected included 407 pounds of marijuana, 7 ½ pounds of heroin, 2 pounds of cocaine, eight vehicles, more than $63,000 in cash and four guns, according to BSO. Of the four guns collected, one had been reported stolen.

The law enforcement officers involved ranged from local police to federal agencies.

The Drug Enforcement Administration, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, and state probation and parole took part. Local law enforcement agencies included Hallandale Beach, Hollywood, Lauderhill and Sunrise, along with the assistance Broward Sheriff's Office.

BSO said this sweep is the third such multiagency operation organized by the agency in the past six months.
