The U.S. unit for the multibillion-dollar Australian insurance conglomerate has pared its exposure to hurricane risk in Florida since 2005. Many of the condo buildings once covered by QBE are now in the hands of Citizens Property Insurance, the state-run insurer that's backed by Florida residents.
