Miami-Dade officers injured during arrest attempt

Two Miami-Dade police officers were injured Wednesday trying take a man into custody, police said.

The officers were injured after responding to an incident in the 8000 block of Northwest 15th Avenue at around 5 p.m., said Juan Villalba, a department spokesman.

The man they were trying to arrest, who police believed may have committed a crime in the northern part of the state, fled and officers began looking for his vehicle.

Officers found it and tried to stop the man a few blocks away. The man would not stop, hitting two police cars. An officer in one car suffered a broken leg. Another officer had cuts to a finger.

The man ran from the car, with officers giving chase.

The officers used a Taser to subdue him.
