PINECREST

Bus line being considered in Pinecrest

Miami Herald Staff Report

Pinecrest has launched a study to determine the feasibility of having a circulator bus operate within the village.

The study includes an online survey of potential users.

Survey questions ask anticipated frequency of use, current transportation methods and areas of greatest need.

The feasibility study also includes an assessment of existing transit services and development patterns to determine the likely success of a circulator bus system that would run within the village.

As envisioned, the system would provide connections to neighboring destinations such as the Dadeland Metrorail stations as well as stops within Pinecrest, including schools and parks.

``One important component of this study will rely on obtaining feedback from our residents and businesses,'' said Pinecrest Mayor Cindy Lerner.

``The online survey will help gauge community interest as well as potential usage, so we urge all those concerned to participate.''

The survey is open to everyone who lives and works in Pinecrest and can be accessed at www.pinecrest-fl.gov.

Responses are limited to one per IP address.

Survey results will be included in the overall feasibility assessment that will be presented to the Village Council.
