Even in bad times, elderly have needs
The congregation at Christ Our Savior Church (in Northwest Miami-Dade) would like to say a big thank you to Commissioner [Natacha] Seijas for not only serving her community, but also for being concerned about all of Miami-Dade County's residents in these difficult times.
We appreciate all she has done for Christ Our Savior Church and the many other churches, not-for profits and organizations that she has helped by giving her thoughtful assistance.
Many seniors are alone or abandoned by their children, they are ill, they are more apt to be criminally victimized, or have other serious issues. We thank her for keeping the focus on an important sector of our county in these rough times, our seniors.
The county's budget has been hit hard, but eventually it will improve and better times will come. We pray that will be very soon. It is tough to be a leader and have to balance a tattered budget.
There are no easy answers but the county's seniors must not be forgotten. Commissioner Seijas has always been there for them. Thank you for everything Commissioner Seijas and God Bless you and your great staff!
CATHERINE
CHRISTOFIS,
