A burglar broke into a house in the 5100 block of Northwest Second Avenue after forcing open the front door on Oct. 13.
NORTH MIAMI
A burglar tried to break into a residence in the 1000 block of Northeast 131st Street while a woman was inside the home at 5:30 p.m. Oct. 26. The woman said she was in the living room when she heard loud banging and footsteps coming from the side of the house. She said she got scared and walked out the front door and down the front steps. She then turned around and saw a silhouette running inside the house past the front window and called police. When police arrived, they found the back door wide open but found no one inside the home.
A man stole a tube of toothpaste and other hygiene products after wielding scissors at employees of Publix, 12855 NE Sixth Ave., at 11:30 a.m. Oct. 26. Employees said when they approached the man and asked him to return to the store, he pulled out a pair of six-inch scissors and said ``no'' before leaving.
A thief stole a purse, $50 cash, credit cards, a bank card, check books and a Florida driver's license after breaking into a 1995 Chevrolet Suburban in the 1200 block of Northeast 125th Street at 5 p.m. Oct. 26.
NORTH MIAMI BEACH
A burglar stole a 32-inch LCD television and a computer CPU after breaking into a residence in the 15600 block of Northeast 10th Court between 6 p.m. Oct. 18 and 8:30 a.m. Oct. 20.
A burglar stole a laptop computer, a Nintendo DS together valued at $1,500 and $35 cash after smashing a bedroom window and ransacking a residence in the 16800 block of Northeast Fourth Avenue between 3:30 and 5 p.m. Oct. 27.
A burglar stole jewelry, a laptop computer and a DVD player after breaking a bedroom window and ransacking a residence in the 1100 block of Northeast 152nd Terrace between 7 and 11:15 a.m. Oct. 23. The items were valued at $2,075.
A thief stole a GPS valued at $100 from a 2009 Cadillac in the 1000 block of Northeast 177th Terrace between 8 p.m. Oct. 22 and 7 a.m. Oct. 23.
A thief took a U.S. passport and $50 cash from an unlocked 1998 Saturn in the 1500 block of Northeast 167th Street between 4 and 9:15 p.m. Oct. 22.
A thief stole a purse containing a wallet, credit cards and identification cards after smashing a window on a 2003 Infiniti in the 16800 block of Northeast 22nd Avenue between 4:15 and 4:45 p.m. Oct. 22. The purse was valued at $130.
A burglar got a suitcase, documents, U.S. passports, jewelry, checks and other items together valued at $6,459 after entering through a rear window and ransacking a residence in the 1500 block of Northeast 174th Street between 6:30 a.m. and 3:45 p.m. Oct. 22.
A burglar tried to break into a jewelry store at 14390 Biscayne Blvd. after cutting open the roof between 7:30 p.m. Oct. 21 and 10:30 a.m. Oct. 22.
A thief stole a purse containing a Maryland driver's license, credit cards and $500 cash after popping a lock on a 1995 Ford Mustang in the 16300 block of Biscayne Boulevard between 6 and 11:45 p.m. Oct. 21.
A man robbed a woman waiting at a bus stop in the 16200 block of Northeast 15th Avenue at 10:45 a.m. Oct. 22. The woman said a man in a Nissan Altima pulled up and asked her if she needed a ride. When she refused, the man got out of the car, snatched her purse and sped away.
UNINCORPORATED MIAMI-DADE
A vandal broke two windows on a 2006 Chrysler in the 100 block of Northwest 167th Street between 11:30 p.m. Oct. 19 and 10:15 a.m. Oct. 20. Damage was estimated at $100.
A burglar stole a camera, a computer monitor and two televisions after prying open a utility room window of a house in the 1000 block of Northeast 211th Terrace between 10:15 and 10:30 a.m. Oct. 20. The items were valued at $4,000.
A thief tried to pry open a door at a house in the 1000 block of Northeast 211th Street at 11:30 a.m. Oct. 20, waking the resident. Damage was estimated at $100.
A thief stole a wallet and identification cards from an unlocked 1996 Ford Explorer in the 1100 block of Northeast 149th Street at 8:45 a.m. Oct. 20. The items were valued at $15.
A burglar stole a laptop computer, a cellphone and jewelry after kicking in the front door of a house in the 100 block of Northeast 171st Terrace between noon and 10:45 p.m. Oct. 20. The items were valued at $2,150. Damage was estimated at $150.
