• FLAGAMI PARK AREA

A burglar tried to break into a house in the 6200 block of Northwest Second Street by prying open a rear door on Sept. 5.

• LITTLE HAVANA

A thief took a woman's purse while she was eating at a restaurant at the corner of Southwest 16th Avenue and Fifth Street on Sept. 19.

A thief lifted a wallet from an apartment in the 1100 block of Southwest Fifth Street on Sept. 17.

A thief picked a man's wallet from his pant pocket while he was at a bus stop at the corner of Southwest 36th Avenue and West Flagler Street on Sept. 16.

A thief tried to steal avocados from a tree in the 2900 block of West Flagler Street on Sept. 16.

• COCONUT GROVE

A thief hauled away cooking oil from a business at 2890 SW 27th Ave. on Sept. 16.

A thief stole a woman's purse left in an office at 3560 Main Hwy. on Sept. 17.

A robber took $20 from a man walking at the corner of Frow Avenue and Southwest 37th Avenue on Sept. 17. The victim said he took out a $20 bill to pay for a bus ride before the robber threatened to hurt him if he did not give him the money.

A thief stole a man's wallet after he left it inside a coffee shop at the corner of Southwest 22nd Street and 27th Avenue on Aug. 28. When he returned for his wallet, it was missing.

• OVERTOWN

Someone stole a bank pouch from behind the counter of a store in the first block of Northwest First Street on Sept. 17. A store employee told police a surveillance video recorded the theft.

• DOWNTOWN MIAMI

A thief lifted items from a woman's purse while she was changing in a fitting room inside Ross Dress For Less, 100 S. Biscayne Blvd., on Sept. 16.

A thief stole a woman's identification card from her purse while she was at Bayside, 401 Biscayne Blvd., on Sept. 15.

A thief grabbed a tray with 23 gold rings valued at $26,100 from a store at 17 E. Flagler St. on Sept. 15. The owner said a surveillance video recorded the theft.

• WYNWOOD

A burglar broke into a house in the 1000 block of Northwest 37th Street after forcing open a window between 6:45 a.m. and 1:45 p.m. Sept. 2.

• WEST MIAMI

Police arrested a man on a charge of possession of cocaine in the 6200 block of Southwest Eighth Street at 2 a.m. Oct. 17.

• CORAL GABLES

Thieves hauled away two grills from the patio of the Phi Delta Theta fraternity house, 6000 San Amaro Dr., between 10 p.m. Sept. 30 and 3 a.m. Oct. 1. The thieves also took three portraits of the fraternity's founding members.

A burglar ransacked a home in the 800 block of Cortez Street after kicking in the front door between 7:45 a.m. and 3 p.m. Oct. 1.

A thief snatched an iPod and a credit card from the center console of a car in the 8900 block of Schoolhouse Road between Sept. 25 and Oct. 1. The victim told police she didn't find the items missing until she noticed credit card charges totaling $1,000 made at the Falls and West Dade Shopping Plaza that she did not make.

Burglars found their way into a home in the 300 block of Velarde Avenue after removing the back door off its hinges between 9 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. Oct. 10. Police said the burglars tried to take a 40-inch flat-screen TV but left it on the ground at the side of residence.

• CORAL GABLES AREA

A burglar broke into a business at 2120 SW 32nd Ave. after entering through a roof hatch on Sept. 4.
