North Beach pet owners need to pick up after their dogs

As a dog walker/pet sitter, I spend every day walking other people's dogs in Surfside, Bal Harbour, Bay Harbor Island, Sunny Isles and North Beach.

I hate to say this and I don't want to offend any of my clients, but the area of North Beach (mid 80s and Byron/Harding) is really disgusting. There is so much dog waste, trash and food thrown about, it smells bad just walking down the sidewalk. I notice that there are hardly any public trash cans in that area, which I believe contributes to the problem.

Some of the other cities mentioned have dog-waste bag stations that I believe is a big help. I know it's impossible for the police to catch pet owners in the act of not cleaning up. Perhaps the law can be written so that pet owners caught walking their dog without any means of cleaning up (plastic bags) would be fined. Something really needs to be done. As it is now, I believe there's a huge health risk.
