MIAMI BEACH
A man stole a briefcase from a hallway at Hotel Victor, 1144 Ocean Dr., after entering through an unlocked rear door at 1:30 a.m. May 8. Hotel security confronted him and told him to leave before realizing the briefcase belonged to a hotel guest. The stolen briefcase contained a cellphone, clothes, supplements, a checkbook and a wallet together valued at $634 and $200 cash.
A thief drove away with a 2003 Dodge Dakota in the 800 block of Jefferson Avenue between 11:30 p.m. May 4 and 10 a.m. May 6.
A thief drove away with a 1996 Nissan Maxima in the 1000 block of Collins Avenue between 6:30 p.m. May 2 and 5:15 a.m. May 3. Miami police later found the car.
A thief stole a laptop computer and six bottles of champagne together valued at $1,980 from Big Time Productions, 550 Washington Ave., between 12:30 and 1:30 p.m. May 7.
A woman called police after she found a man exposing and touching himself while glaring at her from a bus bench at the southwest corner of La Gorce Drive and 56th Street at 2:15 p.m. May 7. The man ran away.
A thief stole a scooter valued at $1,800 in the 3000 block of Flamingo Drive between 10:15 and 10:30 a.m. May 7.
A burglar tried to break into a residence in the 6100 block of Pinetree Drive after smashing a window and making pry marks between 8 a.m. May 1 and 9:15 a.m. May 7. Damage was estimated at $300.
A thief rifled through a glove compartment after cutting the convertible top on a 2002 Volkswagen Cabrio in the 800 block of Española Way between 2 and 7 a.m. May 7.
BAL HARBOUR
A thief stole a woman's purse with credit cards, a check book, a driver's license and $287 cash after she left the purse on a counter at Neiman Marcus, 9700 Collins Ave., at 7:30 p.m. May 11.
BAY HARBOR ISLANDS
Thieves made off with two bicycles and a rubber dive mask together valued at $330 from the front porch of a residence in the 9200 block of East Bay Harbor Drive between 11 p.m. April 17 and 10 a.m. April 18.
A thief removed the registration decal off a license plate on a car in the 9700 block of East Bay Harbor Drive between 6 p.m. April 2 and 3:15 p.m. May 5.
SURFSIDE
A thief stole a silver bicycle and a helmet together valued at $105 from the side of a house in the 9500 block of Byron Avenue between 7 p.m. April 18 and 8 a.m. April 19.
A thief stole a bicycle valued at $300 from the rear of Flanigan's Seafood Bar and Grill, 9516 Harding Ave., between 3 p.m. May 7 and 1 p.m. May 8.
SUNNY ISLES BEACH
Someone stole a camera and LCD television together valued at $5,250 from an apartment in the 17200 block of Collins Avenue while the owner was on vacation between midnight Jan. 3 and 2:30 a.m. April 20. The man returned home and found his front door lock changed and the items missing.
Vandals spray-painted graffiti on a washing machine and several circuit boxes at Plaza of the Americas, 17021 N. Bay Rd., between 7 p.m. April 15 and 10:30 a.m. April 16.
LITTLE HAITI
A thief made off with an aluminum handicap ramp outside a house in the 5900 block of Northwest Seventh Place April 5.
OVERTOWN
A burglar ransacked the entertainment room of a home in the 800 block of Northwest 15th Street April 4.
DOWNTOWN MIAMI
Thieves made off with hand rails from the side of a building in the 1600 block of North Miami Avenue after cutting the rails off the base April 4.
Thieves made off with construction equipment and copper wire valued at $4000 from a construction site at 244 S. Biscayne Blvd. April 14.
WYNWOOD
A thief stole an air conditioning unit from the roof of a business at 559 NW 28th St. between 5 p.m. April 18 and 10 a.m. April 22.
AVENTURA
Police arrested two 18-year-old women on charges of grand theft at Urban Outfitters, 19575 Biscayne Blvd., at 8 p.m. May 9. Police said the girls hid merchandise valued at $349 in their purses before trying to leave and setting off the store alarm.
Police arrested a 19-year-old woman on a charge of grand theft after she hid jewelry and clothes together valued at $602 in a bag at Macy's, 19535 Biscayne Blvd., at 1:15 p.m. May 10.
Police arrested a 25-year-old man on charges of grand theft after he shoplifted 22 boxer shorts valued at $1,089 from Abercrombie & Fitch, 19575 Biscayne Blvd., at 7:45 p.m. May 10. Police said the man kicked and punched store security when they tried to stop him and found he had a booster bag with a anti-theft sensor removal device.
A man stole two bottles of wine valued at $100 from Whole Foods, 21105 Biscayne Blvd., at 8:30 p.m. May 10.
A thief cut a chain and stole a 2007 Suzuki motorcycle on the second level of the Venture parking garage, 2775 NE 187th St., between 12:45 a.m. and 9:30 p.m. May 11. The motorcycle was valued at $8,400.
A thief stole a man's wallet containing a Florida driver's license, a bank card and other items from a locker at Bally Total Fitness, 3455 NE 207th St., between 11 a.m. and 12:15 p.m. May 12.
UNINCORPORATED MIAMI-DADE
A thief stole a purse, $1,700, nine credit cards, a cellphone and identification cards from a 2005 Nissan Maxima at the Dade Memorial Cemetery, 1301 Opa-locka Blvd., at 1:45 p.m. May 1. The stolen items were valued at $2,413.
Burglars stole a microwave, an oven and air conditioner from an unlocked house in the 14300 block of Northwest 13th Court between noon April 26 and 6 p.m. April 30. The stolen items were valued at $2,300.
A burglar stole two laptop computers, another computer, a Nintendo, an Xbox, a DVD player and other items after breaking a bathroom window at a house in the 10300 block of Northwest Fifth Avenue between 10:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. May 1. The stolen items were valued $4,925.
Thieves made off with a 2006 Magic Tilt boat trailer in the 13300 block of North Miami Avenue between 8 a.m. and 7 p.m. May 1. The trailer was valued at $2,000.
A thief stole a purse, credit cards, checks, $343 and other items from an unlocked 2003 Kia Spectra in the 15200 block of Northwest Seventh Avenue at 7:30 p.m. May 1. The stolen items were valued at $211.
