• MIAMI BEACH

A thief cut a chain and made off with a 2006 Honda CBR motorcycle secured to a pole in front of an apartment building in the 2400 block of Flamingo Drive between 11 p.m. April 29 and 8 a.m. April 30.

A thief stole a GPS valued at $500 after shattering a window on a 2006 Kia Sportage in the 1100 block of Meridian Avenue between 11 p.m. April 20 and 8 a.m. April 30. Damage was estimated at $260.

A man stole 10 hair dryers valued at $400 from CVS pharmacy, 615 Fifth St., at 12:15 p.m. April 28.

A thief stole a purse, credit cards, a checkbook, $50 and other items after breaking into a 2001 GMC Envoy in the 200 block of 40th Street between 3 and 5 p.m. April 29.

A thief made off with items after breaking into a 2007 Mini Cooper in the 500 block of West Avenue at 3:30 p.m. April 29. Damage to the car was estimated at $500.

A thief rode off with a scooter in the 1600 block of Alton Road between 3:15 and 4:15 p.m. April 29.

A thief drove away with a 1999 Mercury Villager in the 1400 block of Michigan Avenue between 8 p.m. April 26 and 8 p.m. April 28.

A thief stole a GPS, a medical kit and a briefcase together valued at $1,300 after breaking into a 2008 Chrysler van in the 1600 block of Lincoln Lane South between 12:45 and 1:45 p.m. April 29.

• SURFSIDE

Police arrested a 21-year-old man on a charge of marijuana possession after stopping him for driving over the speed limit in the 9100 block of Collins Avenue at 10:15 a.m. April 8. Police said when the approached the man's car, they smelled a strong odor of marijuana. The man then admitted to having some in the car before police found four partially smoked joints in the car ashtray, the report stated.

• DOWNTOWN MIAMI

Thieves stole 25 boxes of tiles from a construction site, 1900 N. Bayshore Dr., between 5 p.m. March 18 and 10 a.m. March 19.

Thieves stole two passports from Norwegian tourists staying at the Holiday Inn, 340 Biscayne Blvd., March 17. The tourists said, while they were gone, someone took the passports from their hotel room.

Thieves made off with two dolly trailers from a parking lot at 1000 NE First Ave. between 7 p.m. March 15 and 10:30 a.m. March 16.

• WYNWOOD

A thief broke into a car in the 2800 block of Biscayne Boulevard April 1.

A thief stole a Social Security card from a house in the 2000 block of Northwest Third Avenue March 13.

• LITTLE HAITI

A thief stole an air-conditioning unit outside a house in the 600 block of Northwest 52nd Street March 20.

• UPPER EASTSIDE

Thieves ransacked a business at 6801 Biscayne Blvd. between 5 p.m. March 12 and 7 a.m. March 13.

A thief took a city of Miami garbage can from a house in the 200 block of Northeast 77th Street March 14.

A thief smashed a window on a car outside Wendy's, 7801 Biscayne Blvd., March 14.

• SUNNY ISLES BEACH

A thief stole the front fairing, a shell placed over the frame on a 2002 Suzuki motorcycle, in the 100 block of Kings Point Drive between 7 p.m. April 5 and 3:30 a.m. April 11. The fairing was valued at $2.500.

A thief smashed a window on a 2007 Toyota Yaris in the 500 block of Bayview Drive, making off with a GPS valued at $300 between 4 p.m. April 9 and 7:15 a.m. April 10.

• UNINCORPORATED MIAMI-DADE

A thief stole a purse, identification cards and credit cards after breaking a window on a 2007 Nissan in the 100 block of Northeast 167th Street between 8 and 8:15 p.m. April 24. The items were valued at $2,560. Damage was estimated at $200.

A thief stole a compactor after breaking a lock on a trailer in the 100 block of Northwest 162nd Street between 8 p.m. April 20 and 8:30 p.m. April 24. The compactor was valued at $2,200. Damage was estimated at $20.

A thief stole a radio face and $200 from a 1992 Toyota Camry in the 500 block of Northwest 84th Terrace between 1 and 1:10 a.m. April 23. The radio face was valued at $50.

A thief stole a purse and $50 after breaking a window on a 2009 Honda Odyssey in the 300 block of Northwest 139th Street between noon and 12:45 p.m. April 23. The purse was valued at $33. Damage was estimated at $300.

Thieves stole three signs from an animal hospital at 11093 Biscayne Blvd. between 3 p.m. April 22 and 9 a.m. April 23. The signs were valued at $300.

• AVENTURA

Police arrested a 23-year-old woman on a charge of theft at Old Navy, 19225 Biscayne Blvd., at 3:30 p.m. April 29. Store security saw the woman hide 15 items valued at $212.50 in a store shopping bag before trying to leave without paying.

A thief made off with a 2007 Honda CBR motorcycle valued at $12,000 in the 3300 block of Northeast 192nd Street between 8 a.m. April 22 and 10 p.m. April 28.

A thief stole $228 from a woman's purse while she was shopping with her daughter at Walgreens, 18665 Biscayne Blvd., between 10:30 and 11 p.m. April 28.

A thief tried to steal a 2008 Chevrolet Suburban outside Aventura Mall, 19501 Biscayne Blvd., after popping a lock and cracking open the steering column between 11:20 a.m. and 2 p.m. April 29.

A thief stole a GPS and a wallet together valued at $730, along with credit cards, identification cards and $10 from a 2007 Toyota Camry in the 3100 block of Northeast 190th Street between 7:30 a.m. April 27 and 9 p.m. April 28.

Police arrested a 19-year-old man on a charge of theft at Best Buy, 21035 Biscayne Blvd., after he took an Xbox live card valued at $50 to the men's restroom where he hid the item under his jacket at 4:30 p.m. April 29.

Police arrested a 25-year-old man on a charge of theft at Starbucks, 19575 Biscayne Blvd., after he tried to steal $3 from the tip jar at 4:45 p.m. April 29.
