• AVENTURA

Police arrested a 19-year-old man after they said they stopped him for a traffic violation at the Shell gas station, 20500 Biscayne Blvd., and then found a credit card scanning device inside his car at 4:30 a.m. Sept. 27. The man told police he was given the device to steal credit card numbers at Q lounge, 3575 NE 207th St., where he works.

A man tried to steal clothes valued at $420 from the Macy's men's store, 19545 Biscayne Blvd., between 2:15 and 2:30 p.m. Sept. 27. Store security said they confronted the man outside the store he dropped the bags and then tried to use pepper spray on the guards. The man then hopped into a white two-door Nissan and sped away.

Police arrested a 67-year-old woman on a charge of theft at Macy's, 19535 Biscayne Blvd., after she shoplifted merchandise valued at $78 at 3:45 p.m. Sept. 27.

Police arrested 49-year-old man on a charge of theft at Sears, 19505 Biscayne Blvd., after he tried to steal a shirt valued at $42 at 9 p.m. Sept. 27.

• SUNNY ISLES BEACH

A vandal inserted an unknown objected into the key holes on the front and side doors of One Stop Medical Supplies, 16850 Collins Ave., between 6 p.m. Sept. 5 and 10:45 a.m. Sept. 6. Damage was estimated at $450.

A thief stole a man's wallet after he left it on a bar in the poolside area at Newport Beachside Resort, 16701 Collins Ave., between 5 p.m. Sept. 3 and 1:15 p.m. Sept. 4.

A thief stole an iPod valued at $500 from a 2007 Acura valet parked at the Trump International Sonesta Beach Resort, 18001 Collins Ave., between 9:45 p.m. Sept. 6 and 2:45 a.m. Sept. 7.

A vandal slashed two tires on a 2005 Nissan Murano in the 18300 block of Collins Avenue between 12 and 12:30 p.m. Sept. 1. Damage was estimated at $500.

A thief stole sunglasses valued at $300 after breaking into and rifling through a 2003 Nissan in the 17100 block of North Bay Road between 18 p.m. Sept. 2 and 9 a.m. Sept. 3.

Thieves made off with two stainless steel sinks from the 43rd floor of the Jade construction site, 17001 Collins Ave., between 9 a.m. Aug. 30 and 11 a.m. Sept. 3.

• NORTH MIAMI BEACH

A thief stole a 2007 Hyundai Elantra, along with an iPod valued at $500, in the 1500 block of Northeast 170th Street between 10:30 p.m. Sept. 10 and 7:30 a.m. Sept. 11. The car was valued at $12,000.

• UNINCORPORATED MIAMI-DADE

A thief stole a purse, wallet, $275 and other items from a 2009 Hyundai at the corner of Ives Dairy Road and Northeast 15th Court at 4:45 p.m. Sept. 15. The items were valued at $555.

A thief stole a purse and bank cards after breaking a window on a 2008 Chrysler PT Cruiser in the 14400 block of Northwest 13th Avenue between 3 and 5:45 p.m. Sept. 15. The items were valued at $60. Damage was estimated at $100.

A thief stole $500 after breaking a window on a 2009 Toyota Matrix in the 1500 block of Northeast Miami Gardens Drive between 4:30 and 6:30 p.m. Sept. 15. Damage was estimated at $200.

Two officers patrolling the neighborhood near Oak Grove Park at the corner of 159th Street and Northeast Sixth Avenue heard four shots fired at 11:45 p.m. Sept. 15. A witness told police he saw two gunmen walk to the south side of a building in the park and fire four shots into the air, then run away.

A thief stole tools, a briefcase and papers from a 1997 Ford F-250 in the 1000 block of Northwest 140th Street between midnight Sept. 13 and 8:30 a.m. Sept. 14. The items were valued at $870.
