Man dies during a bank robbery attempt

Police on Thursday were investigating a deadly attempted bank robbery at a Wachovia branch in Homestead.
A security guard shot a robbery suspect, who was wearing a blue T-shirt that read, "Police," in a shopping plaza at 1101 N. Krome Ave.
The suspect's car crashed into a light pole in the parking lot. He was dead at the scene.
The security guard was hurt during the shooting and was taken to Homestead Hospital.
