Jewish high school's entrance damaged in Miami Beach

Students at a Jewish high school in Miami Beach were unnerved Monday night when an unidentified object flew through the building's entrance, shattering glass in the front door.

The vandalism appeared to be a random act, said Sgt. Wayne Jones, a Miami Beach police spokesman. Around the same time the front window of a bank a few blocks away was also shattered, he said.

Rabbi Benzion Korf, executive director of the Lubavitch Education Center at 1140 Alton Rd., said the glass was heard shattering about 9 p.m. No one saw the incident, and there were no injuries.

Police said they had no suspects.

Meanwhile, workers at a Coral Springs Jewish community center found swastikas and the expression ``jews shall die'' written in gold spray paint on its walls Monday morning, sunsentinel.com reported.

The vandalism was discovered at the Soref Jewish Community Center, 5601 Coral Ridge Dr. Police were investigating, the website said.
