Miami baby born at 1 pound, 1 ounce going home

The smallest baby ever born at Holtz Children's Hospital is set to go home Friday.
Born at 1 pound, 1 ounce on March 5, Gabriella Mercedes Gil had a 15 percent chance of surviving, Holtz spokeswoman Lorraine Nelson said.
Gabriella was born at 23 weeks, and spent eight months in the Newborn Intensive Care Unit at Jackson Memorial Hospital's Holtz Children's Hospital.
She now weighs 12 pounds, Nelson said. Her parents are Maruja Gil and Miguel Gil of Miami.
