Northwest Miami-Dade couple on ATV badly hurt in collision with car

Similar stories:

A husband and wife were listed in very serious condition after the all-terrain vehicle they were riding collided Thursday evening with a Toyota Solara at Northwest 87th Avenue and 178th Street, Miami-Dade Fire Rescue said.

The couple was taken by air to the Ryder Trauma Center at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, said Miami-Dade Fire Rescue spokesman Lt. Eddy Ballester.

``They were ejected several feet from the crash site,'' he said. ``The husband's injuries were the most serious.''

Miami-Dade Fire Rescue and Miami-Dade police responded to the scene shortly after 5:15 p.m.

The couple, whose names were not immediately released, were in their 20s and lived a few blocks from the accident site, Ballester said.

The Toyota's driver was not injured.
