FLAGAMI AREA
A thief stole a DVD player and clothes after damaging a door lock on a 2009 Kia Rio in the 7200 block of Northwest 11th Street between 4 and 4:15 p.m. Oct. 31. The items were valued at $385. Damage was estimated at $150.
A thief stole documents, clothes and electronics after breaking into a 2009 Chrysler Sebring in the 7700 block of West Flagler Street between 6:15 and 6:30 p.m. Oct. 26. The items were valued at $4,017
CORAL GABLES
A burglar stole diamond earrings and a diamond ring valued at $47,000 from the master bedroom closet of a house in the 500 block of Marquesa Drive between 8:15 p.m. Oct. 15 and noon Oct. 28. The owner told police workers had been in and out of the house between the times the items turned up stolen.
A thief stole a 2006 Land Rover Sport in the 2300 block of Granada Boulevard between 1 and 7 a.m. Oct. 16. The SUV was found later on Oct. 16 abandoned in the 500 block of Northwest Boulevard in Miami.
A burglar stole $624 after cutting a hole in a safe at a Dominos Pizza in the 1400 block of Ponce de Leon Boulevard between 2:15 and 9 a.m. Oct. 16. The burglar entered by forcing open a back door. Damage was estimated at $600.
A thief stole an Immigration and Customs Enforcement placard, a blue police light and $20 after breaking a door lock on a 2006 Dodge Charger in the 200 block of Alhambra Circle between 11 and 11:15 a.m. Oct. 16. The items were valued at $61. Damage to the car, registered to the Department of Homeland Security, was estimated at $100.
City commissioner Ralph Cabrera and his wife were awakened at their home in the 1400 block of Cantoria Avenue at 4:15 a.m. Oct. 17 by someone pounding on their door. The couple told police they were asleep when someone started ringing their doorbell and pounding on the door. A neighbor told police someone also pounded on his door about the same time. The neighbor's security camera showed a full-sized sedan pull up outside the homes and a man, possibly middle-age, walk toward the door using his shirt to cover his face.
SOUTH MIAMI
Someone stole a purse valued at $300, from Bougainvillea's Tavern, 7221 SW 58th Ave., at 2:45 a.m. Oct. 15. The thief also took a BlackBerry valued at $428 and a car key valued at $75.
A thief stole a GPS device valued at $600, from an unlocked 2009 Volkswagen Jetta in the 5800 block of Southwest 86th Street between 8 p.m. Oct. 15 and 7:30 a.m. Oct. 16.
A thief stole a 1991 Dodge Dynasty valued at $1,000 in the 6200 block of Southwest 40th Street between 3:30 p.m. Oct. 18 and midnight Oct. 19.
A thief smashed the window of a 2001 Lexus at South Miami Park's soccer field, 4300 SW 58th Ave., and stole $20 and a cellphone valued at $200 between 1:15 and 3 p.m. Oct. 17.
KINLOCH PARK AREA
A burglar ransacked a house in the 4900 block of Southwest Seventh Street between 10 a.m. and 7:15 p.m. Sept. 16.
LITTLE HAVANA
A burglar stole seven tires from a business at 665 SW Eighth St. on Sept. 17.
A thief stole a bird and a wooden cage from outside a house in the 2600 block of West Flagler Street on Sept. 15.
