The American Cancer Society's DetermiNation program is recruiting runners to participate in the ING marathon and half-marathon on Jan. 31 in Miami.

Aiming to get at least 100 runners involved, the program offers training, as well as fundraising support. Each runner is responsible for raising $500 by race day.

Runners have the choice of tackling the full, 26.2-mile marathon course or the half-marathon. The race begins near AmericanAirlines Arena in downtown Miami.

``We welcome all runners,'' said Jennifer Lui, vice chairwoman of media for DetermiNation. ``Everyday people who want to get involved, like walking groups, college students or moms.''

This is the second race that DetermiNation has organized in Miami.

In March, it organized the 13.1 Marathon in Miami Beach in which seven runners helped raise $10,000 for the American Cancer Society.
