A boater pulled a teenaged girl’s unresponsive body from Biscayne Bay after finding her just north of the Julia Tuttle Causeway Friday morning, Miami Beach police said.
But though the boater rushed the girl to the seawall at Mount Sinai Medical Center, where waiting medical professionals began life-saving measures, she was pronounced dead shortly afterwards, police said.
Ernesto Rodriguez, a public information officer for the Miami Beach Police Department, said detectives had yet to identify the girl or her next of kin.
Rodriguez declined to comment on the cause of death or whether the girl was still alive when the boater found her. Police were called to Mount Sinai at about 9:15 a.m., he said.
