Those tired of overcast skies can perk up to a sunny weekend in South Florida.
Friday’s forecast calls for clear and sunny skies throughout the day, with a high of 71 and nightime low of 53, according to the National Weather Service.
And the sun will continue through the next few days. Saturday will be mostly sunny with a high of 72 and a low of 63 in the evening, while Sunday will be partly sunny with a high of 75.
“It’ll be a cooler weekend, but nicer weather is expected,” said Arlena Moses, a metereologist with the National Weather Service.
Never miss a local story.
The drier weather follows two days of heavy rainfall. On Wednesday, tornadoes touched down in North Broward, flipping cars, toppling trees and damaging roofs. On Thursday morning, a brief tornado hit Delray Beach in Palm Beach County, causing damage to a church and powerlines, Miami Herald news partner CBS4 reported.
Miami-Dade has seen less wild weather, but slick roads and minor street flooding slowed traffic in the evening.
