Miami police are looking for a driver who was involved in a hit and run crash that killed a homeless man Friday morning.
Officers were called to the intersection of Northwest 23th Court and Seventh Street around 6:00 a.m. after a pedestrian was hit by a gray or silver Mazda, police said.
Witnesses told police that the driver, a man in his 50s wearing glasses, fled east after striking an elderly man who was trying to cross Northwest Seventh Street with the help of a walker.
The victim, 73-year-old Victoriano Fernandez, was taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center by Miami Fire Rescue where he later died.
