A Florida panther was found dead after being struck by a vehicle in Collier County.
The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service reported the 3-year-old uncollared male panther was found on Collier Boulevard south of US 41.
The carcass of the panther will be send to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission’s Research Lab in Gainesville for a necropsy.
The death is the second reported in one day.

So far this year, 29 Florida panthers have died, 22 of those died from a collision with a vehicle which is a record for 2014.
