UPDATE: The student was arrested on a felony count of possession of a weapon on school grounds and a misdemeanor count of unlawful display of a weapon, according to a Miami-Dade County Public Schools spokeswoman.
A Miami Edison Senior High School student was arrested Friday morning after officials said he showed off a knife in the school cafeteria.
Miami-Dade Schools Spokeswoman Daisy Gonzalez-Diego said it's unclear whether the 15-year-old freshman threatened anyone, but no one was injured.
School employees saw the student pull out the knife and took it away from him, said district spokesman John Schuster. The freshman will likely be charged with bringing a weapon on a school campus, Schuster said.
Video obtained by Miami Herald news partner CBS4 appears to show the student banging a large knife on a table as employees mill around.
