Just after midnight on Wednesday someone fired a volley of bullets from a car in the street into a Northwest Miami-Dade home while a family slept.
Two children and three adults in the home were unscathed. But a bullet caught Martha Delcid, 35, leaving her critically injured. She was taken to the Ryder Trauma Center at Jackson Memorial Hospital, where she remained Wednesday afternoon.
Police arrived at the home in the 200 block of Northwest 101st Street after someone called 911. They don’t have a description of the vehicle and haven’t released a motive for the shooting. The children inside the home were 7 and 9 years old, according to police.
The house was scarred with several bullet holes. So were nearby cars. Neighbors said they heard as many as a dozen or more shots.
Anyone with information is urged to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-8477.
