The city of South Miami will host an intermodal transportation plan workshop at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 14 in the commission chambers.
Some of the tasks in the intermodal transportation plan involved: transportation mobility data collection, review, and analysis, bike path inspection, public engagement, interagency coordination, vision, goals, and objectives, mast plan diagrams and exhibits, design considerations and costs, implementation plan and mast plan report preparation.
The final plan also features drawings of how intersections can be redesigned for better pedestrian and vehicle traffic flow. The plan is funded by Citizen’s Independent Transportation Trust and Metropolitan Planning Organization. Another opportunity could be connecting to neighboring municipalities and to the regional system of planned and existing greenways, such as Snapper Creek Trail, M-Path, Red Road Linear Park, Old Cutler Trail bike path, and FEC Ludlam Corridor.
