Pinecrest police arrested two men — one of whom was wanted by South Miami police for dozens of car burglaries — after a UPS driver spotted the men jumping over a fence of a Pinecrest home and alerted police.
According to a Village spokeswoman, the men were seen jumping over a fence in the 6300 block of 92nd Street Tuesday afternoon. When officers arrived, they saw two men on bicycles who matched the description of coming out of a vandalized property in the 6400 block of 92nd Street.
Arrested were: Jeremiah Davis, 19, who was wanted by South Miami Police, and Robert Markeith Nickels, 21. Both men were charged with burglary to an unoccupied dwelling and criminal mischief.
Police said the men entered the home's sun porch through an unlocked door and then used a brick to smash an impact-resistant glass door. The men were not able to make it into the home, but left about $2,000 in damage, a Village spokeswoman said.
