Four women walked into J & C Beauty Supply store in Wynwood showing interest in the pricey human hair extensions kept behind the counter.
Just after a store employee took down a $450 pack of extensions, one of the women pepper sprayed her in the eyes, grabbed the hair and ran.
Another woman then went behind the counter and grabbed more extensions. She whacked the worker with the hair before getting away.
Surveillance cameras at the store, 2601 NW Fifth Ave., captured the whole thing. Footage also shows one of the women grabbing a cellphone before shoving the employee.
Police on Wednesday released video of the June 22 heist, in hopes of identifying the robbers.
Store owner John Gao said the employee was OK, just shaken up.
“We’ve had people steal before,” he said. “But never like this. I hope the police catch them.”
