Miami Springs seeks to appoint one or more artists to create art at its new $5 million pool facility.
The program is open to professional artists living in South Florida who are able to design “site-specific exterior art work” for the new swim center, according to a city news release.
The facility layout, according to the city, “echoes the modern renditions of the pueblo-mission revival design elements of the existing community center, with which it shares a campus.”
Qualified artists are asked to submit their qualifications to the city by 2:30 p.m. Sept. 24. Instructions are available at City Hall, 201 Westward Dr., or online www.miamisprings-fl.gov.

The taxpayer-funded Art In Public Places program requires that government facilities built in Miami-Dade County allocate 1.5 percent of construction costs toward site-specific artwork.
