Evidently some of the residents of Miami Lakes fail to understand that the legal fees that the Miami Lakes Town Council voted to pay in the “Pizzi Political Saga” were not incurred by Mayor Slaton, Vice Mayor Cid, and the town clerk.
It is Michael Pizzi causing the town to pay legal fees for his lawsuit against the town charter that is hindering him from regaining his previous position as mayor. It is Michael Pizzi who filed the appeal against Gov. Scott. It was Michael Pizzi who fell for the scheme that “entrapped” him and caused his arrest. Other mayors were given the same scheme, saw through it and rejected it. It is unfortunate that Michael Pizzi was “entrapped” by this scheme since before he became so politically involved in Miami Lakes, etc., he was a criminal lawyer who I would think was intelligent enough to see through the scheme.
If Michael Pizzi is so concerned about spending taxpayer dollars for the his lawsuit, he would dismiss his lawsuit! He can run for mayor in 2016. In the meantime he will be able to rebuild his political reputation by offering his “pro bono” services to Miami Lakes and other communities like he did in the past.
